As is well known, Diablo 4 Season of Death Awakening brought a series of changes, among which the changes to unique and mythic items were particularly noteworthy. Today, IGGM.com will provide a detailed breakdown of all the changes to Mythic gear in Season 14, helping you master the new item system quickly and gain a competitive edge.

Mythic Uniques 3.0 Overview
S14 makes a major adjustment to the item system, officially called Mythic Uniques 3.0. The core change is that Mythic is no longer an independent item rarity, but has been transformed into an attachable item quality.
This means that every ordinary unique item in Diablo 4 now has a chance to drop as a Mythic. From the original dozen or so fixed Mythics, this expands to hundreds of unique items across all classes that can become Mythics. For players aiming for the ultimate endgame gear, the goals they can pursue in the late game have been greatly broadened.
So, what exactly is the difference between Mythic Uniques and regular Uniques? There are two main points:
First, all affixes on Mythic Uniques are guaranteed to reach their maximum value.
Second, Unique Power receives a 30% boost.
The core benefit of Mythic Uniques is that the equipment’s Unique Power is directly increased by 30%. For example, a Unique item that originally provided 30% damage reduction will provide 39% damage reduction in its Mythic version.
IGGM.com reminds you that this 30% boost is not uniform across different Uniques. For Uniques with inherently lower values, like Tibault’s Will, the increase is only from 20% to 26%, which is relatively limited. However, for Uniques like Shroud of False Death that provide high damage reduction, the value increases from 50% to 65%. Since the benefit increases exponentially as the damage reduction attribute approaches 100%, the actual increase is extremely significant.
Therefore, IGGM.com reminds you that when building your build, you should prioritize upgrading Uniques with large base stats or those that offer significant incremental damage reduction benefits to Diablo 4 Mythic Uniques.
Mythic Uniques Affix System Reworked
In addition to the comprehensive expansion of Mythic quality, the affix system for existing Mythic items (now officially called Iconic Mythic) has also undergone a complete overhaul.
From Fully Random to 2 Guaranteed + 2 Random
Previously, the affixes on most Mythic items were completely random, often requiring players to expend significant amounts of Diablo 4 gold and effort to farm for their ideal affix combinations. After Season 14, all Mythics will have 2 guaranteed affixes and 2 random affixes.
Guaranteed affixes are usually related to the item’s theme and playstyle. For example, Harlequin Crest’s guaranteed affixes are Cooldown Reduction and Maximum Life. IGGM.com believes this gives each Mythic item a clearer identity when it drops.
Enchantment Fully Launched
The biggest change is that all four affixes of Mythics can now be enchanted and replaced using Occultist. This means that if two random affixes on a Mythic item drop are undesirable, you can replace them with the desired affixes using the enchantment system. Similarly, if one of the two fixed affixes doesn’t meet your build requirements, you can also enchant and replace it.
Furthermore, affixes added to Mythics through enchantments, transfiguration, and tempering will always roll at the highest possible value. This gives players greater certainty and a higher ceiling when adjusting Mythic item affixes.
Iconic Mythic Balance Adjustments
The existing dozen or so Iconic Mythics have also undergone numerical adjustments. The most notable change is the significant nerf to Heir of Perdition – its Unique Power has been reduced from 60% damage increase to 15%. Meanwhile, The Grandfather’s fixed affix now provides extremely high critical strike chance, potentially becoming a significant supplement to critical strike sources for classes like Barbarian and Necromancer. Overall, players now need to reassess the value of each piece of equipment based on their build needs.
Mythic Item Farming Methods
Season 14 offers several ways to acquire Mythic Unique items. Players can choose the most suitable method based on their progress. IGGM.com will introduce each method in detail below.
Horadric Cube Upgrade
This is a new and crucial acquisition method added in Diablo 4 Season 14. Using 5 Pandemonium Fragments and any 1 Unique item, a Horadric Cube can be upgraded to the corresponding Diablo 4 Mythic item.
However, there are a few points to note about this production method:
-
Same-Slot Drop: Upgrading will always produce a random Mythic Unique for the same equipment slot as the raw material. For example, putting in a helmet will guarantee a Mythic helmet.
-
One-Piece Limit: Each character can only equip one Mythic Unique obtained through Horadric Cube upgrades. The equipment will be marked with crafted.
-
Mythic Uniques Cannot Be Upgraded Again: Items already upgraded to Mythic cannot be used for Horadric Cube upgrades again.
Blacksmith Crafting
If you want to obtain Iconic Mythic items, you need to go to Blacksmith and consume 2 Resplendent Sparks and 50,000,000 gold for random crafting. This recipe produces a random Iconic Mythic item; you cannot specify a specific item.
If you’re unlucky and can’t craft the one you want, you can choose Diablo 4 Mythic Uniques for sale at IGGM.com to save you from the tedious and uncertain crafting process.

Besides the above crafting methods, Mythics can still be obtained as natural drops from defeating bosses, but the probability is extremely low.
According to IGGM.com’s calculations, most builds will see a 50%-100% increase in overall strength after acquiring 2-3 pieces of Mythics, making T12 difficulty relatively easy for most fully developed builds. Get your gear ready and prepare for the mythical wave of Diablo 4 Season of Death Awakening!
